“The ruins behind us” is a program of screenings, in the context where the audiovisual works are in dialogue with the place of their screening, the outdoor cinema of EMST CINEFIX as well as the paradoxical situation where the audience turns away from the light -a remarkable stone of the Acropolis.
The films and videos included in this screening program are related through their shared anti-monumental status and perspective on the city of Athens – they focus on rooftops, sidewalks, aerials and other details of modern day-to-day urban life.
The program includes works by Marina Giotis, Costas Bassanou, Aspas Stasinopoulou, Eva Stefani, Dafnis Hairetaki and Catriona Gallagher.
