Cynthia Nixon justifies the absence of her co-stars in the new season

Cynthia Nixon finally opened his cards for the third season of the series And Like That…, talked about missing his co-stars, which was enthusiastically received by a section of the audience.

Specifically, Nixon gave an interview to Variety and pointed out their absence Sara Ramirez which is non-binary and prefers to refer to the plural.

“They make an interesting character – very controversial, but also interesting. I think they felt – and Michael Patrick King felt – that the character was made whole. They came, they shook everything and then their story is completehuh”, said the actress, who was paired with Che Diaz in several episodes of the show.

The character of Sara Ramirez was not accepted by most viewers of the show, and many television critics gave their honest opinion, especially Kevin Fallon of the Daily Beast, who said that she “the worst character on tv”

Some viewers felt that the inclusion of such a character in the previously almost exclusively white and straight cast was just a woke choice, which did not serve the plot anywhere. However, Nixon clarified that the removal of Ramirez was done because the character of Diaz no longer contributed to the development of Miranda Hobbes and the case.

Nixon also discussed the choice of series creator Michael Patrick King to play Miranda gay, saying that the case did not copy his own life and that he did not ask the screenwriters for it. The 58-year-old actress also said that in a series, elements from the personal life of each character are always included in each character and this is what makes television a powerful medium.

Interestingly, however, the absence of Ramirez from the new season has not yet been confirmed by the max content service, where it will premiere, perhaps in 2025, while filming continues.
