Star Alliance celebrates 10 years at Heathrow Airport Terminal 2

Star Alliance is particularly pleased to complete, together with its member airlines, 10 years of operation at Terminal 2 at London Heathrow Airport. Queen’s Terminal is home to 23 Star Alliance member airlines, facilitating the smooth transportation and service of more than 15 million passengers annually, representing nearly 20% of the airport’s available capacity. .

As part of the strategic initiative ‘Move Under One Roof’, Star Alliance consolidated all its member airlines into a common location in 2014, thus creating a true hub for all alliance members. Special signage placed above the airline check-in counters in the departure section of Terminal 2 welcomes passengers. In collaboration with its members, Star Alliance provides its passengers with the following services, ensuring a smooth travel experience:

  • Gold Track Security: The airport’s priority security check service ensures that passengers can access special security check lanes, regardless of the seat in which they travel.
  • Baggage Tracking: This service allows passengers to track their luggage throughout the journey. At London Heathrow Airport, more than 85,000 pieces of luggage are scanned every day on Star Alliance member airline flights, giving travelers peace of mind.
  • Star Connection Center: A service designed to serve passengers on a short-haul flight, providing priority access to areas within the airport. This service facilitates transportation for more than 1,000 passengers and 750 pieces of luggage per month, saving costs for member airlines and improving the traveler experience.
  • Free Upgrade to Heathrow Express: Star Alliance Gold passengers can enjoy an exclusive and free upgrade to the Heathrow Express Business First cabin, for the journey between the airport and Paddington Station. From June 2024, the offer will also include a partner.
