Simon Brodie, a computer scientist, decided to leave his job in 2003 to dedicate himself to the world of bioethics, so he founded Lifestyle Pets, also called Allerca, in Los Angeles. His goal is to give life to a cat that is not only beautiful, but also hypoallergenic, ideal for those who suffer from allergies and do not want to leave their four-legged friends. The price of the Ashera varies based on its features, but in general, as we have seen, it is about 17,000 euros. A very high price that the company justifies by claiming that Ashera is a rare cat, not in the sense of an endangered cat, but in its exclusivity.
Origins and physical appearance of the Ashera cat
Ashera is a cat that does not exist in nature, so it is a hybrid born from the cross between the African Serval, the Asian Leopard Cat and the Savannah. In addition, the first litters born later were crossed with common domestic cats. This causes cats to become sterile and unable to reproduce. The cat has thick and silky fur of which there are different types: the standard has leopard spots, while the Snow fur is white but has amber shades. Finally, the Royal coat is cream colored and has black and orange spots.
What is remarkable is the size, so the four legs weigh up to 15 kg for 50 cm in length and 120 cm in length.
