Rome: With Trevi Fountain ticket

With Trevi Fountain ticket : A ticket of 2 euros will be paid from Monday, February 2, to those who want to admire the historical fountain of the “Trevi Fountain” in Rome, also known as the Eternal City. This is the point, essentially, where everyone is used to taking photos or throwing a traditional coin into the “Fountain”.

The ticket, according to the decision of the municipality of Rome, is valid for foreign and local visitors. Citizens born in the Italian capital, children up to six years of age, disabled people and tour guides are excluded. Tourists can pay for the ticket on the spot, by bank card, at authorized shops or book online.

The aim of this new step is to limit the over-tourism of this historic waterfall (until now the visitors have reached, on average, 30,000 per day) and to strengthen the treasury of the municipality, with 8.5 million euros per year. The specific amount, according to APE – BEE, should be used only for the maintenance and promotion of the cultural heritage of Roma. After ten in the evening, access is free to all.

“Our town is part of the cultural heritage of the people and our goal is to guarantee its preservation while increasing accessibility and direct contact with its rich culture,” said the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri.
