“Theatre everywhere” with me from November in Thessaloniki

The State Theater of Northern Greece has just announced its program for the new theater season. “theater everywhere” is the goal, with 13 new, ambitious productions, with performances repeated in the second year, loved and admired.

The first big premiere of this year is scheduled for November. Yiannis Houvardas presents Friedrich Schiller’s iconic “Don Carlos” at the Theater of the Society of Macedonian Studies, with Haris Fragoulis in the lead role. Eighteen years after his last collaboration with KTHBE, Konstantinos Rigos directs and choreographs William Shakespeare’s masterpiece “Romeo and Juliet”, the premiere of which is scheduled for January 2025.

And the classic masterpiece “Crime and Punishment” by Fyodor Dostoyevski is included in the KTHBE “menu” for March 2025 at the Lazarist Monastery, at the Sokratis Saradinos Stage, directed by Nikaitis Kountouri. The new play of Iolis Andreadis – daughter of the veteran academic, now retired, of Panteion University Yiagos Andreadis – and Aris Asproulis, “Manolis / heart of four strings”, which focuses on Manolis Chiotis, also stands out , in a pan-Hellenic first presentation!

In the Lazarist Monastery’s Little Theater, again, the theatrical adaptation of Lili Zografou’s novel “Love took a day,” directed by Enke Fezolari, will be performed. The same stage will host Harold Pinter’s work “The Return” directed by Peri Michaelidis, followed by Alexandros Rigas with “Strawberry Blonde” by Mino Belei.

But we are also waiting for “Thelestina” by Fernando de Rojas, directed by Asterios Peltekis, as well as “The twists and turns of the night” by Christoforos Christofis, directed by Haris Pehlivanidis, “Tell me a word” by Brian Friel, directed by Elena Lanara and children – teenage show.
