“The poetic language of Yiannis Tsigris is expressed by the “sea”, “sky” and “light” in their thousand faces. The sea sometimes appears as an invitation to escape from inner searches, sometimes as a attempt to combine the other, sometimes as a theater of madness and pain. .Tsigris, not as a realistic depiction, but as a source of inspiration for his poetic material and symbols.
Another dominant element that permeates the collection is the play with light. Even in the absence of bright colors, the meanings are emphasized mainly by the changes in light. Light brings harmony, calms us, balances us, renews us. Losing it … deprives us of horizons, diminishes us.”

Sometimes he even acrobats between the two media in the same poem. , influences from Cretan music and poetry, his love of folk song. From the first encounter with the collection, an internalized sadness emerges … mute, so to speak, if of course it is not expressed in words .. . ”
He described the poetry of Yiannis Tsigris as inner-deep existential, where simple words, put in verses – one word or two words – immediately acquire another dimension and weight … “. He also mentioned that the poetic subject is looking for an opportunity … to relieve the pain in a quiet way and without a high tone and melodramatic outburst … which follows, in its own way, the seferic “No more I want nothing more than to speak. simply, to grant this grace”.
