Naxos received an international distinction, being included in the list of the best destinations in the world for 2026, based on the participation of tourist areas in the recent leading international tourism exhibition WTM.
The results came after extensive field research by the award-winning “the most influential talent on the web”, blogger Marta Ostoya who combined the new travel trends presented at the major tourism fair in London with her research in 40 countries around the world.
According to the travel blog “Where Life is Great” read by hundreds of thousands of couples and friends in travel activities, the first place is occupied by Naxos, followed by Warsaw, Costa Brava in Spain, Sicily, Riviera Nayarit in Mexico, Bahia in Brazil, Sharjah in the UAE, Okinawa in Japan and Iceland.
For 2025, Naxos has reached a new record of arrivals with an increase of 30.9% in air arrivals and 5.8% in coastal ferry movements, compared to last year for the tourist season,” said the Deputy Mayor of Tourism of Naxos and Small Cyclades, Vangelis Katsaras.
