The Ballet of the National Opera captivates the audience at the Cairo Opera House

By means of Dance with my shadow started with June 6 the two-day tour of the National Opera Ballet at the Cairo Opera House, which caught the attention of the Egyptian Media and confirmed the Egyptian public’s interest in the National Opera Ballet.

The spectacular performance of the dancers in the impressive choreography of ELS Ballet Director Constantinos Rigos thrilled the audience, who rewarded the actors with warm applause. Through the universality of three emblematic works – The cycle of CNS, Captain Michalis and The cursed snake – by the famous Greek composer Manos Hadjidakis, the show moves. The costumes were designed by Deux Hommes and the videos by Vassilis Kehagias. The income of the first show was allocated to the support of the Hospital established by Hellenic Action Africa in the city of Beni Suef, Egypt.

On June 7, modern dance diptych took the baton Return to Summer. In the first part, Point of No Return is presented, choreographed and edited by Yiannis Mantafounis and music by Giorgos Koumentakis. Contemporary dance work with elements of kinesiology deeply rooted in the classical dance tradition impressed the audience with its energy. In the second part, the choreography Les Nuits d’été by Constantinos Rigos to the music of Hector Berlioz was presented. A play about love, loneliness, search and journey. Deux Hommes’ special costumes. The ELS dancers displayed their masterful choreography with energy and vigor and received warm applause from the audience, who rushed for the second day in a row to the Cairo Opera House to watch the performance.
