Aristonauts Festival: The new institution returns to Xylokastro,

The now established official start of the Festival will take place on Thursday, June 20, at Agios Vlasios square of Xylokastro. This year is also dedicated to the art of dance Aristonauts Lab, on the topic of extroversion and networking in the Greek dance scene. On Saturday, July 22, at the Sikyon Coast Hotel & Resort conference room, representatives of the country’s important cultural institutions and independent artists will discuss how the dance scene in Europe has emerged at the moment through specific cultural policy, collaboration between institutions and participation in European networks but also what issues arise and how these synergies can be supported and further developed to improve the visibility of the Greek landscape.

The round table and the open discussion were attended by Anastasia Valsamakis (choreographer), Chrysa Georgiou (project manager – Dance Days Chania), Gina Yotaki (assistant professor – Department of Performing & Digital Arts, University of Peloponnese), Penelope Iliaskou (Dalcroze Professor of Rhythm & Curator of Dance – Duncan Dance Center, EDN), Maria Koliopoulou (choreographer), Christina Liata (responsible for international co-productions and tours – Extraversion program, Onassis Foundation Shelter) and Frosso Trusa (artistic director – ARC for Dance Festival & Moving Colors Festival). The curator of the Aristonautes Lab program is signed by the dance theorist and dramatist Bettina Panagiotara.

Also, for the first time, visitors to the Festival will have the opportunity, from June 20 to 23, to be transported in time and space and spend “A day at the ancient Acropolis in Athens“, through a unique interactive virtual reality experience offered by Chronoscope VR.

Aristonauts Festival, as part of its educational program, collaborates again this year with renowned professionals and experienced trainers and offers original laboratories and actions for everyone: workshop plan for adults, lab dance for people with or without disabilities, night star gazing with telescopes and an overnight stay on the plateau of Ziria, animation and ceramics workshop, experiential workshop dedicated to maritime and shipbuilding tradition of the Aristonauts but also a magical Sunday tour in the mountains of the region.

Finally, throughout the four days, the exhibition “The trials of the Aristonauts» with an impressive construction of a part of a Mycenaean twenty.
