A different exhibition for the designer duo of fashion, style and fragrance, from a design duo that did not progress to Dolce & Gabbana. But he was adored. And still is.
This is the first major retrospective exhibition of Dutch creators, a retrospective, at the Kunsthalle München in Germany. For at least three decades, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren have explored the boundaries between the worlds of haute couture and art. Known for their unconventional design approach, their creations have been enthusiastically adopted by artists such as Madonna, Tilda Swinton, Lady Gaga, Cardi B and featured in a ballet as well as an opera directed by Robert Wilson.
What will we see in the exhibition? Passions, obsessions and their vision. More than 100 bold creations, videos, sketches, photos of the iconic “click meter” Herb Rich, endless perfumes with poetic names like “Flowerbomb” and “Spicebomb”. And the porcelain dolls dressed in their iconic creations. The answer to those who say fashion is not art.
